Vandaag, zondag, het tweede deel van het celebration Weekend van 40 jaar Stad. Met de deejays en programma’s van toen. Geniet ervan en zet je radio gewoon op Stad!
Today from 12 till midnight, the 2nd part of our celebration weekend with deejays and their programmes from an era long gone…Mostlly in Dutch but you will love the music.
Wat vliegt de tijd als je ziet wat er sinds 1982 allemaal verandert is en toch voelt het voor de meeste van ons nog als gister. Onze generatie heeft veel veranderingen meegemaakt maar vooral die goede oude tijd van vroeger blijft ons bij; zonder mobieltjes, zonder internet, stappen tot je een ons woog en dan weer door de volgende avond. Vrienden ontmoette je in de discotheek en Radio Stad hoorde daar bij.
Je hoorde ‘m overal! In de auto, uit ghettoblasters, op het strand, in winkels en bij jou thuis! Stad heeft altijd geprobeerd uniek te zijn. Met horizontale programmering, duo presentaties, mooie vormgeving, import muziek, stadfeesten, eigen platenzaken en discotheken en hele gave reclames die iedereen nu nog kan meezingen.
Hier is onze speciale programmering van dit weekend met de meeste dj’s van toen en hun programma’s.
Verwacht veel oud gedigitaliseerd materiaal met speciale dank aan Herman van Velzen en geweldig mooie anekdotes van die mooie jaren van weleer.
Op 14 februari 1982 startte Stad haar uitzendingen.
Jarenlang op de beruchte 97.2fm, toen via lokatel 95.9 en weer terug naar de 97.2 om (na een korte radio stilte) uiteindelijk en nog steeds, alweer 20 jaar, te horen te zijn op het wereld wijde web! 1982-2022. 40 Jaar lang oefenen wij een radio passie uit met het gevoel van toen, 40 jaar is iets om te vieren en dat doen wij dan ook! Geniet van de speciale programmering met de meeste DJ’s van toen. Helaas moesten mannen zoals Jurgen van der Meer, Rens van de Mar, Freek Fontein, Niek Montanus, Rick Romijn e.a. zich afmelden. Uiteraard is Ger van den Brink in onze gedachte erbij, net zoals Ron van Rijn (den Otter) en Dave Daily.
Wij danken jullie, de luisteraars, de fans. Groot applaus voor jezelf, zonder jullie hadden wij het niet volgehouden dus…Beleef het met ons mee. En je weet “Niet in de ether, wel 10x beter!”

Radio Stad … “Where it all started”
De zaterdag avond in Sir Winston Club in Rijswijk was eén groot succes. . We hadden een live straalverbinding dus je kon thuis meeluisteren. Grote dank gaat uit naar Herman die de hele avond, met Menno dit mogelijk hebben gemaakt.. Het ware technische zend-vak werk kwam weer naar boven alsof het gister was! De deejays hebben waanzinnige sets neergezet.
Heel veel dank Johan van der Velde, Zwaardski, Andre den Hartog, Eric Benjamin, Marc Hartman en DJ Güstav! Jullie zijn stul voor stukk toppers!

Party update 40 Jaar Stad.
Als het goed is hebben jullie je allemaal ingeschreven voor de feest avond a.s. zaterdag avond. Zo niet, dan kan het zijn dat je er niet in komt maar…don’t worry, we gaan live vanaf de Club dus je kunt lekker alles thuis beluisteren, 6 DJ sets met het beste van de afgelopen 40 jaar Radio Stad.
Als je wel komt naar Sir Winston…. zorg dat je gegeten hebt, De Halve Maan beneden is zo goed als vol.
Parkeren kan op diverse plekken en op loopafstand.
Langs de lange Kleiweg is een parkeerplaats, even klein stukje lopen door weer en wind en via de Halve Maan naar binnen en de trap op.
Zorg dat je je ‘ticket’ op je telefoon klaar hebt dan wel een screenshot van de poster. Dan weten de mannen aan de deur dat je goed volk bent.
Zaal gaat om half 8 open, de eerste set begint om 8 uur.
Wij vieren ons 40 jarig bestaan met jou!

1982-2022 let’s Party! Tot Zaterdag!
The whole year we celebrate that we excist 40 years but this upcoming weekend is for you!. If you come from abroad to the venue saturday night be ware that the Pub Restaurant might be fully booked. The doors of the club open at 7:30 pm CET, first set starts at 8pm CET. Please show your free ‘ticket’ or download or print a picture of this poster in this blog so the men at the door know that you are part of our family and so let you in.
Hotels nearby are The Sir Winston Hotel, Ibis Hotel or a B&B of your choice in the town called ‘Rijswijk’.
The location of the Sir Winston Club is not very spectaclulair. You could visit the ‘old town’ of Rijswijk with several restaurants, 10 minute drive from the club. It is called De Herenstraat. For your info… Albert One used to visit this old part of Rijswijk many many years in a row with his Rosy and had dinner at the Italian resaurant Grand Sasso nearby.

Andre den Hartog will play again lots of goodies from his own vinyl collection.
Expect music from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s. Music from the time you were dating and going to Clubs & Discotheques and..items like ‘who sampled who’ and other very nice music facts.

‘Stad Classics’ is een programma waar je weer helemaal terug gaat naar je jeugd en dus ook jouw stap-tijd. De Marathon, Corniche Club, Het Teejater, Sandokan, Cartouche, Club Westwood, de IT, Tempel, La D S, of welke club dan ook! Misschien zelfs wel Studio 54! Stil zitten wordt lastig.
Herman van Velzen Live in ‘Wijntje, Plaatje, Praatje’
8pm CET – Herman van Velzen is er weer helemaal klaar voor. Tune in voor zijn radio show ‘Wijntje, Plaatje, Praatje’.
Ga er maar lekker voor zitten want het is altijd een show vol met verrassingen…En vanavond met een gast dj uit vervlogen Radio Stad tijden; Reinoud Roemer alias Jan Alleman. Reinoud was eén van ons meest getalenteerde woord kunstenaars. Verwacht daarnaast de nodig oude reclames, hele leuke items, mooie anekdotes van 40 jaar Radio Stad en natuurlijk heerlijke muziek uit onze jaren 80 en jouw Radio Stad tijd. Herman digitaliseerd zich namelijk helemaal suf en dat resulteert in een feest van herkenning!

Every tuesday a radio show (completely in Dutch) hosted by the co-founder of Radio Stad on FM in the 80s and also co-founder of Radio Stad on the internet that started in the year 2002. This DJ has worked for well known radiostations, is a voice over and now back on his roots. His name…. Herman van Velzen! The show is called ‘Wine, records & chat’.
Herman will play pure Radio Stad pop and disco classics from late 70s and 80s. Also lots of digitized audio fragments from the Radio Stad past! Enjoy
